I think its great that she is doing it, more importantly she did it in style with a giant banner! It is on the corner of Chinowth and Whitendale this Saturday, and I encourage everyone to go. Go and support a member of our community who is taking control of her problem. I am excited to buy a a sugary treat and meet her. As it turns out one of my friends know her, and says she is a neat lady.
So this Saturday go check it out!

What a great idea! It makes me happy when I see someone taking the initiative to get things done. It only saddens me when I think of how neighbors use to take care of each other. I remember my Mother telling me stories of the barn and roof raising parties, as she called them. She said people would come from miles around and bring food for the women to cook. The men worked as long as it took to get the job done. The children played without fear from daylight until dusk. Of course everyone sat down for a big meal together. The best thing was they WERE together. Talk about the old days, huh?
