I made a wedding cake for my niece. Her colors were red, black, and white. So I decided to do just a white cake with black decorations on it. I walked away from it long enough for the dog to find it, I think I fell asleep maybe, but still... just long enough. I thought it was safe pushed way back on the counter, but though her legs are short and stout her body is long giving her just the height she needs on her back legs to reach it.
She ate enough of it to annoy me so much, that with encouragement from my supportive husband, I went on a hunt for a plain cake. I started out at save mart and nearly bought 3 round white cakes (one larger than the others), which I would have had to get these 3 random sized black scrolled boxes to display them on, and transfer the decorations to the cake. However those 3 cakes would not have been enough for everyone, and they are a bit pricey. I was surprised that they didn't have any plain white ones, she would make me one plain but it would have been to close to the wire, and almost $35 for plain sheet cake!
So I went to Winco, they had one and it was frozen, which was exactly what I was looking for, since it was very hot that day, and only $20 for it. I went back home gathered all my decoration from the other cake, and *poof* instant emergency wedding cake.
